PhD, Master's & MD Students
We are currently looking for motivated and enthusiastic students to join the Translational Organ Microsystems (TOM) Group at the University of Würzburg.
PhD position: We are recruiting a funded PhD position in Translational Organ Microsystems. The project will combine biofabrication, biomaterials, tissue engineering, organ-on-chip technologies, and immunology to develop advanced human in vitro lung models for studying disease mechanisms and supporting translational research.
We welcome applicants with backgrounds in areas such as biomedical engineering, bioengineering, biology, biomaterials, tissue engineering, biotechnology, infection and immunity, or related disciplines. Experience with mammalian cell culture is particularly valuable; experience in organ-on-chip technologies, biofabrication, microfluidics, microscopy, molecular biology, or immunological techniques is advantageous but not required.
Master's and MD students are also welcome to contact us regarding research projects, theses, or related opportunities. These opportunities are primarily intended for students currently studying in Germany, preferably in the Würzburg area.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are curious, motivated to learn new techniques, and excited to work at the interface of engineering, biology, and medicine within a young and interdisciplinary research group.
